Knautia
Knautia is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Dipsacaceae. These plants are commonly found in Europe and parts of Asia, thriving in meadows, grasslands, and open woodlands. Knautia species are known for their attractive, often purple or blue flowers, which bloom in clusters and attract various pollinators, including bees and butterflies.
The most well-known species is Knautia arvensis, also called field scabious. This perennial plant typically grows between 30 to 80 centimeters tall and features a rosette of leaves at the base. Knautia is appreciated in gardens for its ornamental value and is often used in wildflower meadows and naturalistic plantings.
