Kingdom of Soissons
The Kingdom of Soissons was a historical Frankish kingdom that existed from the late 5th century until the early 8th century. It was located in what is now northern France and was one of the earliest Frankish states established after the fall of the Roman Empire. The kingdom was named after its capital, Soissons, and played a significant role in the early medieval period.
The kingdom was ruled by a series of Merovingian kings, including notable figures like Clovis I, who is often credited with uniting the Franks. The Kingdom of Soissons eventually fell under the influence of the more powerful Kingdom of Neustria and was absorbed into the expanding Frankish Empire.
