Kingdom of Neustria
The Kingdom of Neustria was a historical region in what is now northern France, existing from the 6th to the 8th centuries. It emerged as one of the three main kingdoms of the Frankish Empire, alongside Austrasia and Burgundy. Neustria was characterized by its diverse population and significant urban centers, including the city of Paris.
Neustria played a crucial role in the political landscape of early medieval Europe, often involved in power struggles with its neighboring kingdoms. The kingdom was eventually absorbed into the larger Carolingian Empire under the rule of Charlemagne, marking the end of its distinct political identity.
