Kingdom of Romania
The Kingdom of Romania was a historical state in Southeast Europe, established in 1881 when Romania was proclaimed a kingdom. It emerged from the unification of the principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia in 1859. The kingdom played a significant role in regional politics and was involved in both World Wars.
The monarchy lasted until 1947 when King Michael I was forced to abdicate by the communist government. Following this, Romania became a socialist republic. The legacy of the kingdom is still evident in Romania's culture, architecture, and historical sites, reflecting its rich heritage.
