Kingdom of Angola
The Kingdom of Angola was a historical kingdom located in present-day Angola, in southwestern Africa. It emerged in the late 15th century and was known for its rich culture and trade networks, particularly in ivory and slaves. The kingdom was ruled by the Ngola, a title for its monarchs, and played a significant role in regional politics and commerce.
The kingdom's capital was Kassanje, which became a center for trade and cultural exchange. The Portuguese began to exert influence in the region during the 16th century, leading to conflicts and eventual colonization. The Kingdom of Angola ultimately fell under Portuguese control in the late 19th century.
