King Wu
King Wu was the founder of the Zhou Dynasty in ancient China, reigning from 1046 to 1043 BCE. He is best known for his military prowess and for defeating the last king of the Shang Dynasty, which marked a significant shift in Chinese history. His victory at the Battle of Muye established the Zhou as the dominant power in the region.
King Wu is also recognized for promoting the idea of the "Mandate of Heaven," which justified the ruler's authority based on their ability to govern wisely and justly. This concept became a fundamental principle in Chinese political philosophy, influencing future dynasties and rulers throughout history.
