King Philip II of Navarre
King Philip II of Navarre was born in 1554 and became the King of Navarre in 1572. He was a member of the House of Bourbon and played a significant role in the French Wars of Religion. His reign was marked by efforts to unify the Protestant and Catholic factions in France.
Philip II was also known for his marriage to Margaret of Valois, which was intended to strengthen ties between the Protestant and Catholic communities. He ruled until his death in 1610, after which his son, Louis XIII, succeeded him, continuing the Bourbon legacy in France.
