King Peter II
King Peter II was the last reigning monarch of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Born on December 6, 1923, he became king at just 11 years old after his father, King Alexander I, was assassinated in 1934. His reign was marked by political turmoil and the challenges of World War II, leading to his exile in 1941.
After the war, the monarchy was abolished in 1945, and Peter II lived in exile for many years. He returned to Yugoslavia briefly in 1970 but spent most of his life in the United States, where he passed away on November 3, 1970.
