King Olav V
King Olav V was the King of Norway from 1957 until his death in 1991. Born on July 2, 1903, he was the son of King Haakon VII and Princess Maud of Wales. Olav played a significant role during World War II, serving as a symbol of Norwegian resistance while in exile in London.
He was known for his down-to-earth personality and love for outdoor activities, particularly skiing. King Olav V was also a skilled athlete, having competed in the 1928 Winter Olympics. His reign is remembered for promoting national unity and strengthening Norway's democratic values.
