King Henry I
King Henry I was the fourth son of William the Conqueror and became the King of England in 1100. He is known for his efforts to strengthen the monarchy and improve the administration of the kingdom. Henry I introduced the use of the Exchequer, a system for managing royal finances, which helped to increase the efficiency of tax collection.
During his reign, Henry I also focused on legal reforms, establishing a more organized system of justice. He issued the Charter of Liberties, which aimed to protect the rights of his subjects and limit the power of the nobility. His reign lasted until 1135, when he died without a male heir.
