King Håkon VI of Norway
King Håkon VI of Norway was born in 1340 and became king in 1355. He was the son of King Magnus VI of Norway and Princess Blanche of France. Håkon's reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the monarchy and improve relations with Sweden and Denmark.
Håkon VI is also known for his marriage to Margaret I of Denmark, which helped to unite the crowns of Norway and Denmark. His rule ended in 1380 when he died, and he was succeeded by his son, Olaf IV of Norway, who continued the union between the two kingdoms.
