King Gyeongjong
King Gyeongjong was the 21st ruler of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 1720 to 1724. He was the second son of King Sukjong and Queen Inwon. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the central government and reduce corruption, although his time on the throne was short due to his ill health.
Despite his brief rule, Gyeongjong is remembered for promoting Confucian ideals and supporting the arts. He was succeeded by his half-brother, King Yeongjo, who continued some of his policies. Gyeongjong's legacy is often overshadowed by the more prominent reigns of his predecessors and successors.
