King Fahd Causeway
The King Fahd Causeway is a bridge and causeway that connects the countries of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Opened in 1986, it spans approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) over the Persian Gulf, facilitating road travel and trade between the two nations.
The causeway features several lanes for vehicles and includes customs and immigration facilities. It is an important infrastructure project that enhances economic ties and tourism, making it easier for people to travel between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The structure is named after King Fahd, the former king of Saudi Arabia.
