King Edmund Ironside
King Edmund Ironside was an English king who ruled for a brief period in 1016. He was the son of King Æthelred the Unready and Emma of Normandy. Edmund is best known for his fierce resistance against the Danish invasion led by King Cnut, fighting valiantly to defend his kingdom.
Despite his efforts, Edmund was ultimately unable to secure victory and was defeated in battle. He became king after his father's death but faced significant challenges from the Danes. Edmund Ironside's reign lasted only a few months, and he died later that same year, leaving a legacy of bravery in the face of adversity.
