King David II
King David II was the King of Scotland from 1329 until his death in 1371. He was the son of Robert the Bruce, a famous Scottish king known for his role in the Wars of Scottish Independence. David II's reign was marked by ongoing conflicts with England, particularly during the Hundred Years' War.
David II spent much of his early reign in exile after being captured at the Battle of Neville's Cross in 1346. He was eventually released in 1357, but his later years were troubled by political strife and financial difficulties. He died without a direct heir, leading to the succession of his nephew, Robert II.
