King Constantine II
King Constantine II was the last reigning monarch of Greece, serving from 1964 until the abolition of the monarchy in 1973. Born on June 2, 1940, he became king at a young age after the death of his father, King Paul I. His reign was marked by political turmoil, including a military coup in 1967 that forced him into exile.
After years in exile, Constantine returned to Greece in 2000 but did not regain his throne. He lived in various countries, including Italy and London, and was involved in sports, particularly sailing, representing Greece in the 1960 Olympics. He passed away on January 10, 2023.
