King George I
King George I was the first monarch of the House of Hanover, ruling Great Britain and Ireland from 1714 until his death in 1727. He was born in Germany and became king after the death of Queen Anne, as he was a Protestant and a descendant of the Stuart line. His reign marked the beginning of the modern British monarchy.
During his rule, George I faced challenges, including political conflicts and the rise of the Whig party. He preferred to communicate in German and relied heavily on his ministers, particularly Robert Walpole, who became the first Prime Minister. His reign helped shape the future of British governance.
