King Christopher III of Denmark
King Christopher III of Denmark, also known as Christopher of Bavaria, ruled from 1440 to 1448. He was part of the Kalmar Union, which united the crowns of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden under a single monarch. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the union and improve relations among the three kingdoms.
Christopher was born in 1416 and was the son of King Eric of Pomerania. His rule faced challenges, including internal conflicts and opposition from the nobility. After his death in 1448, the Kalmar Union began to weaken, leading to a gradual decline in centralized power in the region.
