King Christian V
King Christian V was the king of Denmark and Norway from 1670 until his death in 1699. He was born on April 15, 1646, and was the son of King Frederick III. His reign is noted for the establishment of a more centralized government and the promotion of trade and industry in his kingdoms.
During his rule, Christian V also commissioned the construction of several important buildings, including the Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. He was a patron of the arts and sciences, which contributed to the cultural development of Denmark during the late 17th century.
