Kim dynasty
The Kim dynasty refers to the ruling family of North Korea, which has been in power since the country's establishment in 1948. The dynasty was founded by Kim Il-sung, who led the country until his death in 1994. His leadership was characterized by a strong emphasis on Juche, a state ideology promoting self-reliance and nationalism.
After Kim Il-sung, his son Kim Jong-il took over, continuing the family's authoritarian rule until his death in 2011. The current leader, Kim Jong-un, is the grandson of Kim Il-sung and has maintained the dynasty's tight grip on power, focusing on military development and nuclear capabilities.
