Kibera
Kibera is one of the largest informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya. It is home to an estimated 200,000 to 1 million people, living in a densely packed area with limited access to basic services like clean water, sanitation, and healthcare. The settlement is characterized by narrow pathways and makeshift housing, often constructed from mud, tin, and other recycled materials.
Despite the challenges, Kibera has a vibrant community with various local businesses, schools, and organizations working to improve living conditions. Many residents engage in small-scale entrepreneurship, contributing to the local economy and fostering a sense of resilience among the community members.
