Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park is located in western Uganda and covers an area of approximately 766 square kilometers. It is renowned for its rich biodiversity, particularly its population of chimpanzees, making it one of the best places in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. The park features a mix of tropical rainforests, grasslands, and wetlands, providing a habitat for various wildlife species.
The park is home to over 350 bird species and numerous other primates, including red-tailed monkeys and black-and-white colobus. Established in 1993, Kibale National Park is part of the larger Albertine Rift ecosystem, which is crucial for conservation efforts and ecotourism in the region.
