Ki no Tsurayuki
Ki no Tsurayuki was a prominent Japanese poet and courtier during the Heian period (794-1185). He is best known for his contributions to the Kokin Wakashū, an important anthology of Japanese poetry. Tsurayuki's work often reflects the themes of nature, love, and the passage of time, showcasing the aesthetic values of his era.
In addition to his poetry, Tsurayuki served as a government official and was involved in various cultural activities. He is also recognized for his literary criticism and for writing the first known preface to a poetry anthology in Japan, which helped shape the future of Japanese literature.
