Kernwaffen
Kernwaffen, or nuclear weapons, are explosive devices that derive their destructive power from nuclear reactions. These reactions can occur through fission, where atomic nuclei split, or fusion, where they combine. The energy released in these processes is significantly greater than that of conventional explosives, making Kernwaffen some of the most powerful weapons known.
The development and possession of Kernwaffen are heavily regulated by international treaties, such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Countries with nuclear capabilities are often involved in complex geopolitical discussions to prevent the spread of these weapons and to promote disarmament, aiming to reduce the risk of nuclear conflict.
