Kenneth I
Kenneth I was a significant figure in Scottish history, known for being the first king of the Scots. He reigned during the early 9th century and is often credited with uniting various tribes in the region, laying the foundation for the Kingdom of Scotland. His rule marked the beginning of the House of Alpin, which would dominate Scottish royalty for several generations.
Kenneth I is believed to have ascended to the throne around 843 AD after defeating the Picts, a group of Celtic tribes in what is now Scotland. His leadership helped establish a sense of national identity among the Scots, and he is remembered as a key figure in the formation of Scotland as a unified kingdom.
