Keloids
Keloids are raised scars that form when the body produces too much collagen during the healing process. They often appear after an injury, surgery, or even acne, and can grow larger than the original wound. Keloids can vary in color, texture, and size, and they may be itchy or painful for some individuals.
These scars are more common in people with darker skin tones and can occur anywhere on the body. While keloids are not harmful, they can be a cosmetic concern. Treatments include corticosteroid injections, silicone sheets, and in some cases, surgical removal, but keloids may recur after treatment.
