Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic
The Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was established in 1920 as part of the Soviet Union. It was created to provide a degree of self-governance for the Kazakh people while remaining under Soviet control. The republic was located in Central Asia and covered a vast territory, which is now part of modern-day Kazakhstan.
In 1936, the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was elevated to the status of a full union republic, becoming the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. This change allowed for greater political representation and administrative autonomy within the Soviet framework, reflecting the importance of the region in the Soviet Union's economic and strategic plans.
