Kashmiri Pandit
The term "Kashmiri Pandit" refers to a community of Hindu Brahmins native to the Kashmir Valley in India. They have a rich cultural heritage, known for their contributions to Sanskrit literature, philosophy, and the arts. Traditionally, they have been involved in various professions, including education, administration, and trade.
In the late 20th century, many Kashmiri Pandits faced significant challenges due to political unrest and violence in the region. This led to a mass exodus in the late 1980s and early 1990s, resulting in a large diaspora living outside of Kashmir. Today, efforts are being made to preserve their unique culture and heritage.
