Kasbahs
A Kasbah is a type of fortified structure found in North Africa, particularly in countries like Morocco and Algeria. Traditionally, these buildings served as a residence for local leaders or wealthy families and were designed to protect against invasions. Kasbahs are often made of adobe or mud brick and feature thick walls, narrow streets, and sometimes towers.
Many Kasbahs are located in strategic positions, such as hilltops or near trade routes, to provide security and visibility. Today, some Kasbahs have been preserved as historical sites, attracting tourists who are interested in the rich cultural heritage of the region.
