Kartago
Kartago, or Carthage, was an ancient city located in present-day Tunisia. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 9th century BCE, it became a major trading hub in the Mediterranean. Its strategic location allowed it to thrive economically and culturally, leading to the establishment of a powerful empire.
The city is best known for its conflicts with Rome during the Punic Wars, which lasted from 264 to 146 BCE. Despite its initial successes, Carthage was ultimately defeated and destroyed by the Romans in 146 BCE. The site later became a Roman city, showcasing its historical significance.
