Karadjordjević
The Karadjordjević family is a Serbian royal dynasty that played a significant role in the history of Serbia. Founded by Karageorge, or George Petrović, in the early 19th century, the dynasty led the First Serbian Uprising against Ottoman rule in 1804. The family has been influential in Serbian politics and culture, with members serving as kings and regents.
Throughout the 20th century, the Karadjordjević family faced various challenges, including exile during the communist regime in Yugoslavia. After the fall of communism, some family members returned to Serbia, where they have been involved in cultural and charitable activities, maintaining their historical legacy.
