Karađorđević Dynasty
The Karađorđević Dynasty is a Serbian royal family that originated in the early 19th century. Founded by Karageorge, the dynasty played a significant role in the Serbian struggle for independence from the Ottoman Empire. The family has produced several notable monarchs, including Peter I and Alexander I, who contributed to the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes.
After World War II, the dynasty was deposed, and the monarchy was abolished in Yugoslavia. Despite this, the Karađorđević family remains influential in Serbian culture and history, with members actively participating in various charitable and cultural initiatives.
