Kansas High School Athletics
Kansas High School Athletics encompasses a variety of sports and activities for students in grades 9 through 12. Governed by the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA), these programs promote physical fitness, teamwork, and school spirit. Schools compete in sports such as football, basketball, track and field, and volleyball, among others.
The athletic programs are divided into classifications based on school size, ensuring fair competition. Each year, teams participate in regional and state tournaments, culminating in championship events. These competitions foster community support and pride, as local fans rally behind their schools and athletes.
