Kanmon Straits
The Kanmon Straits are a narrow body of water located between the islands of Honshu and Kyushu in Japan. This strait connects the Seto Inland Sea to the Yamato Sea and is approximately 4 kilometers wide at its narrowest point. It serves as an important shipping route for vessels traveling between the two major islands.
The straits are also known for their scenic views and historical significance. The Kanmon Bridge and the Kanmon Tunnel facilitate transportation across the straits, linking the two islands by road and rail. The area is rich in marine life and is a popular spot for fishing and sightseeing.
