Kanmon Strait
The Kanmon Strait is a narrow waterway located between the islands of Honshu and Kyushu in Japan. It connects the Seto Inland Sea to the Yamato Sea and is approximately 4 kilometers wide at its narrowest point. The strait is an important shipping route, facilitating maritime traffic between the two major islands.
The strait is also known for its scenic views, featuring the Kanmon Bridge and the Shimonoseki and Kitakyushu cities on either side. The area is rich in history and culture, with various attractions, including the Kanmon Tunnel, which allows vehicles and pedestrians to cross beneath the water.
