Kamo no Chomei
Kamo no Chomei was a Japanese author and poet from the late Heian period, known for his work "Hōjōki," which translates to "An Account of My Hut." Born in 1155, he was a member of the Kamo clan and served as a government official before retreating to a life of solitude in a small hut near Kyoto.
In "Hōjōki," Chomei reflects on the impermanence of life and the transience of human existence, drawing from his experiences during natural disasters and societal upheaval.
