K-Type Main Sequence Star
A K-Type Main Sequence Star is a type of star that falls within the spectral class K. These stars are cooler than G-Type stars like our Sun, with surface temperatures ranging from about 3,900 to 5,200 Kelvin. They emit a warm orange or yellow light and are often found in the middle of the main sequence on the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram.
K-type stars are typically smaller and less luminous than their G-type counterparts, with masses between 0.6 and 0.8 times that of the Sun. They have longer lifespans, often lasting several billion years, making them stable environments for potential exoplanets to develop life.
