Jurchen people
The Jurchen people are an ethnic group originally from northeastern China, primarily in the region known as Manchuria. They are historically significant for founding the Jin Dynasty in the 12th century, which ruled over northern China and challenged the Song Dynasty. The Jurchens were known for their skills in horseback riding and archery.
Over time, the Jurchen people assimilated with other groups, particularly the Manchu, who later established the Qing Dynasty. Today, the Jurchen are recognized as a part of the broader Manchu ethnic identity, with their language and culture influencing the history of China.
