Judo Competitions
Judo competitions are organized events where athletes, known as judokas, compete against each other using techniques derived from the martial art of judo. The goal is to score points by throwing, pinning, or applying joint locks and strangles to an opponent. Competitions are typically divided by weight classes to ensure fair matches.
Judokas wear a traditional uniform called a gi, which allows for gripping and throwing techniques. Matches are officiated by referees who ensure the rules are followed. Competitions can range from local tournaments to international events, including the Olympics, where top judokas showcase their skills on a global stage.
