Juan de León
Juan de León was a Spanish explorer and conquistador known for his expeditions in the early 16th century. He is best recognized for his search for the mythical Fountain of Youth, which he believed could restore youth and vitality. His explorations primarily took place in the Caribbean and parts of Florida.
In 1513, Juan de León became the first European to set foot on the land that is now Florida. He claimed the territory for Spain and established a settlement, although it was short-lived. His adventures contributed to the European understanding of the New World and its potential for colonization.
