Juan Luna
Juan Luna was a prominent Filipino painter, sculptor, and political activist born on October 23, 1857, in the Philippines. He is best known for his masterpiece, Spoliarium, which won a gold medal at the 1884 Madrid Exposition. Luna's works often depicted historical and social themes, reflecting the struggles of the Filipino people during the Spanish colonial period.
In addition to his artistic achievements, Juan Luna was also involved in the Philippine nationalist movement.
