Juan Luis Vives
Juan Luis Vives (1492-1540) was a Spanish humanist and philosopher known for his contributions to education and psychology. Born in Valencia, he studied at the University of Paris and became a prominent figure in the Renaissance movement. Vives emphasized the importance of education and advocated for the teaching of practical subjects alongside classical studies.
Vives is also recognized for his work in psychology, particularly in understanding human emotions and behavior. His writings, such as "De subventione pauperum," addressed social issues and the welfare of the poor. Vives' ideas influenced later thinkers and laid the groundwork for modern educational and psychological theories.
