Juan Guaidó
Juan Guaidó is a Venezuelan politician and engineer who gained international attention in early 2019. He became the President of the National Assembly and declared himself interim president of Venezuela, challenging the government of Nicolás Maduro. Guaidó's claim was based on the belief that Maduro's re-election in 2018 was fraudulent.
Guaidó received support from several countries, including the United States and members of the European Union, who recognized him as the legitimate leader of Venezuela. His efforts aimed to restore democracy and address the country's ongoing political and economic crises, which have led to widespread hardship for the Venezuelan people.
