Jozef Tiso
Jozef Tiso was a Slovak politician and Roman Catholic priest who served as the President of the Slovak Republic from 1939 to 1945. He played a significant role in the establishment of an independent Slovak state during World War II, which was a client state of Nazi Germany. Tiso's government implemented policies that aligned with Nazi ideology, including the persecution of Jews.
After the war, Tiso was arrested and tried for treason and collaboration with the Nazis. He was found guilty and executed in 1947. His legacy remains controversial, with debates surrounding his role in Slovak nationalism and the Holocaust.
