Josephine de Beauharnais
Josephine de Beauharnais was born on June 23, 1763, in Martinique. She became the first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, the famous French military leader and emperor. Josephine was known for her charm and elegance, which helped her gain influence in French society during a tumultuous time.
After marrying Napoleon in 1796, Josephine played a significant role in his rise to power. However, their marriage faced challenges, including her inability to produce an heir. Ultimately, Napoleon divorced her in 1810, but they remained on good terms. Josephine passed away on May 29, 1814, in Paris.
