Joseph Plunkett
Joseph Plunkett was an Irish nationalist and a key figure in the Easter Rising of 1916. Born on November 20, 1887, in Dublin, he was a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and played a significant role in planning the uprising against British rule in Ireland. Plunkett was also a poet and writer, known for his literary contributions that reflected his nationalist beliefs.
During the Easter Rising, Plunkett served as the director of military operations for the rebels. After the uprising was suppressed, he was captured and executed by firing squad on May 4, 1916. His writings and actions have made him a symbol of the struggle for Irish independence.
