Joseon dynasty
The Joseon dynasty was a Korean dynastic kingdom that lasted for approximately five centuries, from 1392 to 1910. Founded by Yi Seong-gye, it is known for its significant cultural, political, and social developments. The dynasty established Confucianism as the state ideology, which influenced Korean society, education, and governance.
During the Joseon dynasty, notable advancements were made in various fields, including science, technology, and the arts. The invention of the Korean script, known as Hangul, by King Sejong the Great in the 15th century is one of its most celebrated achievements. The dynasty ultimately ended when Korea was annexed by Japan in 1910.
