Josef Skupa
Josef Skupa was a Czech puppeteer and actor, best known for creating the beloved puppet character Spejbl. Born on December 16, 1892, in Plzeň, he became a prominent figure in Czech culture, particularly in the field of puppetry. Skupa's work combined humor and social commentary, making his performances popular among both children and adults.
In 1920, he founded the Spejbl and Hurvínek theater, which showcased his innovative puppetry techniques. Skupa's influence extended beyond the stage, as he also contributed to film and radio. He passed away on July 8, 1957, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of puppetry.
