Joint Committees
Joint Committees are legislative bodies that consist of members from both houses of a bicameral legislature, such as the United States Congress. These committees are formed to address specific issues, conduct investigations, or streamline the legislative process by combining expertise from both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The primary purpose of Joint Committees is to facilitate cooperation and communication between the two chambers. They can hold hearings, gather information, and produce reports that inform the legislative process. Examples of Joint Committees include the Joint Committee on Taxation and the Joint Economic Committee.
