Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian government agency responsible for conducting entrance examinations for prospective students seeking admission into tertiary institutions. Established in 1978, JAMB oversees the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which assesses candidates' readiness for higher education.
In addition to organizing exams, JAMB also manages the admission process for universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria. The board ensures that admissions are fair and transparent, providing a centralized system for students to apply to multiple institutions through a single examination.
